Transfinder Pro 7.8 Release is a HIT! |
SCHENECTADY, NY - April 04, 2008 - Schenectady, NY – April 4, 2008 – Our schools face enormous challenges with the skyrocketing price of fuel, and several of the features of Transfinder’s latest release have addressed that issue. The company recently delivered version 7.8 of its flagship software, Transfinder Pro, to its users and top enhancements include new walk-out stops and stop boundary modifications, Mail Merge, a Rollover Wizard, and seamless integration with Google Earth. With this new release, a map integration product is now available to clients. The new stop tool and stop boundary modifications are a big hit because they allow clients to do more “what-ifs” with just a few clicks of the mouse. Users can quickly evaluate how theoretical changes to the students’ walk-to-stop policy would affect mileage and number of stops. They can make the decisions that balance a reduction in transportation costs with maintaining good service to parents and students. Mail Merge functionality makes creating postcards, letters, mailing labels and badges easier than ever before, minimizing calls to the transportation office and strengthening customer service. The new Rollover Wizard is a step-by-step instruction to ease the complexity of the annual grade advancement. “In version 7.8, we’ve combined functionality upgrades that our customers have requested with internally developed enhancements we knew would put us ahead of the curve,” said John Andrews, Director of Development. One such enhancement is the integration of Transfinder Pro with Google Earth. By integrating with Google Earth, Transfinder software allows for the next generation of “what-if” analysis. A quick menu click displays students and routes in the Google interface, offering a vivid way to view potential hazards, plan stop changes and help new drivers learn their routes. A computer-simulated trial run uses no fuel, and drivers’ familiarity with the routes will mean fewer wrong turns. With the new Map Integration add-on, district personnel with access to regularly updated GIS maps will no longer have to do any map editing. As new local GIS maps are released, Transfinder maps can be updated with the click of a mouse, saving clients substantial time and effort. “These new features were introduced to our Texas clients at four different User Seminars two weeks ago,” said Antonio Civitella, President and CEO of Transfinder. “The feedback they gave us was music to any software developer’s ears—7.8 is a hit!” About Transfinder |
