Company Expects to Close 2014 with 100 Employees 

Transfinder, the leading provider of school bus routing software, has hired Fusco Personnel Inc. to find top-tier developers anywhere on the globe. By the end of the year, Transfinder will have created 23 new positions this year. 

Schenectady, NY - September 12, 2014

Transfinder Corp. has hired Fusco Personnel Inc., the top-ranked recruiting firm in New York’s Capital Region, to conduct a global search for top software developers, designers and software analysts. 

Fusco Personnel, the region’s leading executive recruitment agency according to the 2014 Albany Business Review’s “Book of Lists,” is conducting its first job fair at Transfinder’s headquarters at 440 State St. in Schenectady on Sept. 17. 

“We are looking globally for developers,” said Antonio Civitella, Transfinder president and CEO. Transfinder makes bus routing software that is used by more than 1,500 school districts in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. This year, the company also branched out to serve adult-care providers, such as the Center for Disability Services, based in Albany, New York. 

“We are bursting at the seams with new products and new functionality that work on ever-changing platforms,” Civitella said. “We need the best-of-the-best software developers, mobile developers, UI/UX (User Interface/User Experience) designers and software analysts. We’re counting on Fusco Personnel to track down these hard-to-find developers.” 

Fusco Personnel, which recently celebrated 20 years in business, has a 90 percent placement rate and more than 95 percent retention rate. It leads Transfinder’s search effort with a robust database of more than 10,000 candidates from a wide array of industries. 

Despite a well-documented national shortage of talented developers and the difficulty tech firms have had hiring skilled IT workers, Fusco Personnel founder and owner Patricia Fusco said she will find what Transfinder is looking for. 

“We will fill these jobs by various methods of ‘creative recruiting,’” she said. “We have an international reach and are able to source candidates from every corner of the nation.” 

At the start of 2014, Civitella anticipated growing from 77 employees to 90 by year’s end. The CEO now anticipates ending the year with more than 100 employees, making it one of the largest technology companies in the Capital Region. Even as the company continues to grow rapidly, it remains a place where employees like to work. In 2013, Transfinder was voted one of the region’s “Best Places to Work” based on employee surveys. 

The software developer also was recently named to Inc. magazine’s “fastest-growing companies” list for the eighth year in a row. 

“Only a tiny fraction of the nation’s companies have demonstrated such remarkably consistent high growth, particularly in the difficult environment of the past few years,” said Eric Schurenberg, Inc. magazine’s president and editor-in-chief, in a letter to Civitella. 

Civitella said in order to make the list for a ninth consecutive year, Transfinder will have to continue innovating new products as more offerings move to the web and can be accessed via a variety of mobile devices. 

Fusco said the partnership with Transfinder was a good fit.

Fusco said Transfinder’s decision to host an in-house job fair is a move more companies are taking to draw top talent. 

“We have noticed a trend of homegrown, in-house job fairs, where applicants can come in and see the actual facility, potential co-workers and really get a feel for the environment they are pursuing,” Fusco said. “Clients who open their doors for potential applicants have the opportunity to meet a multitude of quality candidates without having to leave their desks.” 

Civitella said the investment in its $7 million modern headquarters on Schenectady’s now-bustling State Street just down from Proctors was intentional.
