A Schenectady, New York technology accelerator, dubbed New York BizLab, is preparing to open its doors in March.
The accelerator at 251 State St. is the brainchild of Antonio Civitella, CEO of Transfinder Corp. - a Schenectady company that develops school bus routing software.
Civitella is creating the business accelerator in partnership with Schenectady County Community College through the Start-Up NY tax incentive program focused on attracting new companies to the state and encouraging others to expand.
Similar to an incubator, the accelerator will help young companies grow by providing them with access to resources, mentorship and low-cost space.
"We didn't really turn the faucet on that much to get everyone excited because we still had a lot of construction to do," Civitella said. "Now we're getting closer and you can see that light at the end of the tunnel. The faucet is going to be turned on all the way."
